Control- and safety system
All functions and sensors of the wind turbine will be monitored and controlled 24/7 by the Turbine Controller. The main control system unit is located in the nacelle and is connected to the power converter by glass fibre optical cable.
The rotor speed control system monitors and automatically adjusts the rotor speed and blade pitch for optimal and safe operation. The system works independently per blade and is fully synchronised. For safe operation, the second safety stop system is handled by three independent battery units. An additional parking brake controls the double locking pins used to block the rotor.
Power converter
The power conversion is located in the bottom of the tower and consists off a water cooled back to back converter running by IGBT’s.
